This role offers a rewarding opportunity to serve as the Director of Pharmacy and Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) at a well-established acute care facility in South Bay, FL. The position focuses on pharmacy leadership, TJC accreditation preparation, and regulatory compliance within a dynamic inpatient environment. Training begins April 1st with a seamless transition to PIC duties starting April 6th, covering the department until a permanent hire is made internally.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide effective pharmacy leadership, overseeing a team including 3 pharmacy technicians, 1 full-time pharmacist, and 4 PRN pharmacists.
- Lead and manage compliance with The Joint Commission (TJC) standards and prepare for upcoming inspections.
- Supervise sterile compounding processes, primarily supported by pharmacy technicians.
- Utilize and support electronic order entry system (CPSI) and site automation (Omnicell) with training available.
- Manage pharmacy operations in specialty areas such as Acute Care ICU, outpatient infusion, surgery, and medical-surgical units.
- Perform responsibilities under a Collaborative Practice Agreement (CPA) using CPS.
- Maintain focus on regulatory requirements, patient safety, and efficient workflow within limited staffing conditions.
Qualifications And Desired Experience
- Valid Florida pharmacist license and consultant pharmacist licensure.
- Minimum of 3 years of pharmacy management experience, preferably in inpatient settings.
- Strong knowledge of intravenous (IV) therapy and TJC standards.
- Familiarity with CPSI order entry system and Omnicell automation is preferred; training can be provided.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities and skills in pharmacy operations and regulatory compliance.
Schedule
- Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM 4:30/5:00 PM.
- No weekend coverage required.
